Somewhat hard-to-find novel about a young energetic and honest city manager a WWI veteran who attempts to unseat the entrenched political machine in a suburb of New York City dubbed for purposes of this narrative "Suburbia"--could this be the first use of that term. It "doesn't pretend to be literature" wrote a contemporary critic but "the style is lively with better dialogue than is to be found in the average novel." Hanna 2252 .
