Early 19th century edition; 4 1/2 x 2 3/4; pp. 4 3-472 2; calf over boards; four raised bands to spine; two metal and leather clasps intact often torn and missing from similar publications; engraved vignette to title page; a small notebook page with a signature and date tipped-in to first free leaf; a few small punctures from insect damage to upper margin of front board; leather a bit scuffed especially along edges spine and clasps; relatively light foxing throughout; good to very good condition. An unusually well preserved edition of Martin Luther's New Testament published in Pennsylvania by a somewhat lesser known publisher of religious literature in German as opposed to the more famous Saur and Billmeyer publishers of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
