This exhibition curated by Lucia Sanromán curator at the Musem of Contemporary Art San Diego and Ruth Estévez curator at the Carillo Gil Musem in Mexico City explores the complex relationship between civic responsibility and citizenship and the present political and social conditions and the loss of the basic rights of the individuals through the bold and provocative artistic proposals videos installations photography sculptures paintings drawings and textile works by 18 contemporary artists from Tijuana Mexico City Israel Belgium and the United States among others. This was the 1st international exhibition of contemporary art and accompanied the inauguration of El Cubo during 2008.
