Noted poet Ruth Fainlight has contributed a moving poem using the imagery of pomegranates and its association with the Greek myth of Persephone and Demeter to pose questions about the life process aging revisiting our youth death and rebirth. Ms. Rothchild's pomegranates are rich and warm almost supernaturally lit images -- always in pairs -- exposing its complicated fruit. The artist usually works in the pastel medium using vibrant strong colors usually still lifes bringing life to inanimate objects with magical light.
