Isaac Williams 18021865 poet and theologian was a prominent member of the Oxford Movement acquainted with John Keble and like the other members of the movement associated with Oxford University. He wrote religious poetry and one of the movement's famous tracts: "Reserve in communicating Religious Knowledge". From 1842 to 1848 Williams was curate to Thomas Keble younger brother of John Keble at Bisley near Stroud. Keble set the pattern for Tractarian observance by his practice of daily services and gathered around him a group of clergy of sympathetic views who were later described as the 'Bisley school' of the Oxford Movement. unknown
