Some foxing. Some underlining and marginal notes but generally the books are clean. All bound in contemporary full leather with spine titles. TAPE is attached to each side of the spine on each volume. The spine of Vol I is split at the centre but holding the spine of Vol II is cracked. The boards themselves are in Good condition. 1825908London: George Humphrey 1825. Etching and engraving with hand coloring in watercolor on cream wove paper 10 x 7 3/4 inches 252 x 195 mm trimmed to the platemark. Siginificant condition issues include multiple repaired tears in the lower center sheet area thick adhesive residue throughout on the verso and a corner tear that extends approximately 1.5 inches into the image area in the lower right. There is also an irregular trapezoidal area of bright discoloration with associated small surface losses at the top left sheet corner. Despite the condition issues the pigments are fresh and bright. This portrait of King George the III's son was published in the same year that Beethoven's Ninth Symphony premiered in London. George Humphrey unknown

In a clumsy two-wheeled chaise drawn by a donkey left to right the Speaker sits holding a huge umbrella over himself and his mace-bearer who sits on the box-seat driving the mace against his shoulder. On the corner of a wall left is 'Parliament Street'. John Bull right stands facing the donkey; he says: "I like this Plan of Sheridan's much I wish it was carried on through Pall Mall i.e. at Carlton House as well as Parliament Street then Poor I should have less taxes to Pay."
