Here he describes seven shipwrecks he witnessed: the Josephus 1849 The Clara Bell 1872 The Peruvian and Bark Francis 1873 The Giovanni 1875 the Jason 1893 and the Portland 1898. The plate is of the Jason and there is an outline map showing the location of the Portland's demise. Also includes a true Cape Cod tale retold by Lillian May Small presumed to be a relative of the author.
