The report dated March 22nd 1847 was evidently printed as part of another document perhaps minutes of the Board as the pages are numbered 491-501. These pages were bound together with the wraps separately at some point after the report was adopted in May of 1847. Wraps are soiled & chipped foxing throughout water stain at fore edge of pages up to page 8 maps toned one map has a short separation at two fold lines and some chipping where map extended beyond the wraps. The question of extending Albany Street through the Trinity Church Yard was a controversy that lasted into the 1850s despite having been adopted in this report in 1847. "The Petitioners in this matter complain that they have no thoroughfare from the North to the East River and that for the want of one they suffer much in the wintertime and are obliged on account of the steepness of ascent in Rector and Thames streets and the narrowness of the latter to cart their goods through Marketfield Street or Battery Place to Broadway in order to reach the East side of the City." The conclusion reached in this document is "That it is inexpedient improper and unnecessary to extend Albany Street to Broadway through Trinity Church Yard or that any street whatever should be open through or over that ground; and that the prayer of the Petitioners be and is hereby denied." Ultimately Albany Street was not extended through the Trinity Church Yard. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 1 lb 0 oz. Category: Genealogy & Local History; Books; Picture 2: Title Page.
