Very good tidy copies. <br /> <br /> A rather charming collection of poetry from the early 20th century Scottish school showcasing the work of luminaries like Buchan and Munro all edited and brought together by C.M. Grieve who is better known to all and sundry as Hugh McDiarmid. Issued in two series between 1920 and 1922 with a single volume edition essentially just both first edition volumes bound together including their title pages distributed at the end of 1922. T. Pagination essentially the result of two sets of first edition sheets being bound together including original title pages and the ads to the rear of the Second Series. Light scuffing to the corners with a bit of stripping away of the paper some soiling and thumbing to the boards in places and some minor bumping and softening to the spine ends; internally clean fore and bottom edges untrimmed. A very good copy.<br /> <br /> An oddly produced volume edited by Hugh McDiarmid under the name of C.M. Grieve and originally issued between 1920 and 1921 to showcase the contemorary voices of Scottish poetry. Series I and Series II were later combined apparently by the simple expedient of taking all the original leftover unbound sheets and cramming them in together in a single volume binding. A charming and rather peculiar collection of carefully chosen poetry and poets. T. Foulis unknown

Slightly later gift inscription on title page. Scare account of a fishing trip made by the Yellowstone County Bar Association to Stillwater River near its confluence with the Yellowstone in 1917. The group travelled from Billings Montana and made camp on the river north of Custer National Forest. The pamphlet is illustrated with several reproductions of engaging photographs and the text provides a humorous report of the occasion. We locate one copy at the Montana Historical Society. unknown

Old damp-marks to board edges of both volumes causing discoloration to cloth but no structural damage. Bindings sound. Glue residue to endpapers of volume II else unmarked and still a Very Good set of this uncommon autobiography of "The First Lady of Yiddish Theater." Adler was known for creating leading roles in Yiddish versions of many classic plays and was the first actor to portray a Holocaust survivor in her brother Luther's 1946 Broadway production A Flag is Born. 194559445Montgomery PA 1945. Gouache on board 13 x 17 inches. Abbott 1895-1950 was a popular American illustrator of wildlife. A native of Brookline Massachusetts he studied at Harvard and was thereafter engaged in business in New York City. He moved to Altadena California in the early 1930s and then relocated to Montgomery Pennsylvania in 1935. He illustrated two ornithological works by Leion Augustus Hausman an "Illustrated Encyclopedia of American Birds" 1944 and a "Field Book of Eastern Birds" 1946. His illustrations also appeared in various books by Marguerite Henry Gertrude Howell Hildreth Sterner St. Paul Meek Rutherford George Montgomery Charles Anthony Stephens and others.
