Moses."</p><p>Generously illustrated with black & white photographic plates. Contains previously unpublished material highlighting the seminal role he played in creating many of New Yorks great public works including parks museums parkways monuments bridges and tunnels. He assisted in planning building and managing the 1964 New York World's Fair and he was Chairman of the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority during the building of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge connecting Brooklyn to Staten Island.</p><p>The recipient of this copy of the book Milton Brumer was the chief engineer on the Verrazano Bridge project.</p><p>Book is very good with light sunning to edges dust jacket is good with small chips on bottom of jacket and slight wear at the top edges.</p> McGraw-Hill hardcover

Highlights of the English-language portion include "Grand Rabbi Moses Lipschitz - a Scion of Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum" by Menashe Unger 5pp. translated by Morris Spiegel and several other articles; a halftone image of the Rabbi and his family; a printed note and previously unpublished translation of a Chaim Nacham Bialik poem by novelist and critic Ludwig Lewisohn; and 29 pages of ads and well-wishes many illustrated and most from Philadelphia. Laid in is a two-page document by David Tirkel titled "Rabbi Lipshitz sic travels to Eretz Israel with the spiritual baggage of good deeds." A charming and informative document. Rare and intriguing letter 11.75 x 8.25 inches Cabinet of the President Elisabethville November 6 1962 in English written during his pseudo reign to anti-Communist supporters in Miami Florida recovering from their failure to overthrow Fidel Castro and the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis in full: "I have not much time to write I shall only tell you and your friends how pleased I have been to receive your kind letter. I really do appreciate your sympathy for my Country and myself thanks for your good wishes." Fine condition.<br/> <br/> Congolese radical Politian who in 1961 became President of the Government of the Province of Katanga eventually seceding from the rest of the Congo. He succeeded in getting military assistance from Belgium and was responsible for Patrice Lumumba being transferred to Katanga where he was executed. After U.N. forces re-captured Katanga in 1963 Tshombe was driven into exile in Northern Rhodesia. He briefly returned as Prime Minister a year later but was eventually dismissed. In 1967 Joseph Mobutu filed charges of treason against him and he was sentenced to death.<br/> <br/> unknown
