184613179New York: Moses Y. Beach 1846. Tenth edition. Softcover. Very good. Octavo 32pp. Removed with original stitching perished; still sound. Presumably wanting original wrappers. Thin dust-soiling to fore-edge else a nice copy otherwise; very good. Though a stated "tenth edition" this may be a slight exaggeration. The earliest edition in OCLC is the fourth and there are only records of a few in between. A wonderful compendium of the moneyed elite in mid-19th century New York a time when successful immigrants and their children were beginning to nip at the heels of the Mayflower descendants and their like. Snapshot biographies for each entry are followed by their estimated net worth all entries are over $100000 which is roughly $4000000 in today's currency. Moses Y. Beach unknown
