"Die andere bedeutende jüdische Medizinerfamilie in Frankenberg war die Familie Lissard. Deren erster Vertreter Moses Lissard stammte aus Amöneburg wo er am 29. Juni 1835 als Sohn eines in sehr dürftigen Verhältnissen lebenden jüdischen Lehrers geboren wurde.15 Nach dem Besuch der Gymnasien in Fulda und Marburg begann er an der Philippina das Studium der Medizin. Ein Antrag vor der geforderten Studienzeit von vier Jahren zum Fakultätsexamen zugelassen zu werden wurde im April 1860 vom Kurfürsten abgelehnt trotz Befürwortung durch die Fakultät.16 Anschließend studierte er noch eine Zeit lang an der Universität Würzburg. Das Thema seiner Marburger Dissertation aus dem Jahr 1861 lautete: Tracheotomie beim Croup. 1862 legte er in Kassel das Staatsexamen ab. Während seiner Studienzeit in Marburg kam Lissard in engere Beziehung zu Wilhelm Roser einem der berühmtesten Chirurgen seiner Zeit und wurde einer seiner Lieblingsschüler. Als er ein nach seinen Angaben konstruiertes Instrument das als 'Lissard-Rosersche Nachbehandlungskanüle' bekannt wurde in einer Schrift empfahl schrieb Roser dazu die Vorrede. Erst im Frühjahr 1865 erhielt Lissard auf die dringende Bitte des Stadtrats beim kurfürstlichen Medizinalkollegium um Wiederbesetzung der damals vakanten Stelle die Praxiserlaubnis in Frankenberg. ."
