In part: "Having heard that Mr. Sims has returned from selling your drove of horses I am induced to hope it will be quite as convenient for you to pay me the $1000 with interest now . with promise that you would give me a Kentucky Frankfort note gain for it . I hope the sales of your drove of Horses has been very good." After the war Buford emigrated from Virginia to Kentucky where he served for a time as deputy surveyor see DAB for a detailed account of his estimable Revolutionary War service especially against Tarleton. In spite of that drafts as late as October 1981 bore only Polonsky's name. This was the last film with which Polonsky was associated as screenwriter though to what degree it was a collaborative effort is unclear. As screenwriter for BODY AND SOUL 1947 and writer/director of FORCE OF EVIL 1948 Polonsky was well on his way toward a distinguished career in film when he was blacklisted and fired by Fox for refusing to cooperate with HUAC. FIRST EDITION. In this work Kaau Boerhaave describes the process of the excretion of sweat from the sweat-glands of the skin and the motion of fluids within the body. The book also reprints his short lecture on the alchemists for which he received a gold medal from Leyden University. In this copy the lecture on alchemy is bound at the front of the volume. There was a second edition Lovanni 1779. Stieda calls this "a brilliant work." Abraham Kaau Boerhaave the prominent physician studied medicine at Leyden under his uncle Hermann Boerhaave. After graduating and practicing medicine at The Hague for several years Kaau-Boerhaave went to St. Petersburg where he was appointed professor of theoretical and practical medicine and pharmacy. Dated April 26 1865 this paper covers events relating to the Lincoln funeral. The Herald reports that 750000 stood in silence during the funeral procession and that there were many disappointed mourners who didn't get a chance to join the 150000 that had a chance to make it to view the body. The paper gives details about the funeral procession and the final church services for the slain president. An important piece of American History.</p> books
