Contemporary marbled calf spine divided by Greek key rolls gilt second compartment lettered in gilt direct. A few minor spots slight dampmarking to fore-edge of plates. Binding just a touch rubbed at extremities spine lightly creased. Pencilled ownership inscription dated 1917 to flyleaf. A nice copy of a scarce Bungay printing of the earliest writings of James Hervey 1714-1758 influential on Blake and the entire genre of Gothic literature. Worldcat locates only 3 copies in the UK Cambridge St Andrews NLS and four outside UC Berkeley Wesleyan Lancaster Theological and Princeton Theological. It reprints a rather more common 1807 Bungay edition. Printed and published by Brightly and Childs unknown
