Martino Giusti - Prefazione di Alessandro Pratesi 1 30x30 cm., legatura in seta nera con plancetta a colori e impressioni in oro al piatto, titoli in oro al dorso, cofanetto, pagg.281 su carta speciale a mano vergata azzurrina, numerose illustrazioni parte applicate e parte stampate a piena pagina, colophon, ex libris, edizione di pregio a tiratura limitata, copia n. 2015/5000, edizione bilingue: italiano-inglese, buone condizioni, raro. Tra i sigilli, particolari sono, per la rarit? dovuta al materiale impiegato, le cosiddette bolle d'oro. I sigilli di questo tipo conservati negli archivi europei non raggiungono neppure il numero di duecento; di questi, ben ottantuno appartengono all'Archivio segreto Vaticano e sono splendidamente riprodotti e accuratamente catalogati in questo volume.
In 4°; 331, (1) pp. Legatura coeva in piena pergamena con titolo impresso in oro su fascetta rossa al dorso. “Ex Libris Reverendi Francisci – Xaverii Donnarumma” ottocentesco, applicato al recto del piatto anteriore. Bellissime iniziali finemente incise. Esemplare uniformemente brunito a causa della qualità della carta utilizzata e tipico di tutte le copie. Esistono alcuni esemplari che presentano una c. di tav. fuori testo con il ritratto di “Papa Benedetto XIV” nel nostro esemplare assente. Gli altri esemplari digitalizzati sono sempre privi del ritratto. Prima ed unica edizione di questo trattato del noto ecclesiastico leccese e vescovo di Ravello e Scala prima e di Cava de' Terreni, poi, Michele Tafuri (Lecce 1712 – 1796). L'opera è un dotto trattato che analizza la storia dell'autorità papale sui beni temporali della Chiesa Cattolica, sugli aspetti spirituali. Le ultime 130 pagine sono dedicate alla storia cronologica dei papi cattolici. Opera dotta in buone-ottime condizioni di conservazione di interesse vaticano. Rif. Bibl.: IT\ICCU\BVEE\060351.
