A scarce collection of 125 b/w biblical illustrations from the old testament by German painter Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld 1794-1872. Each image is captioned underneath and accompanied with explanatory text on the facing pages all in Hebrew. This edition is in Hebrew only although a variant edition solely in English is known. The text in the English editions is credited to Israel Meir Lask 1905-1974 although he is uncredited here. Includes a table of contents for the images at the front. Binding created by the famed Bezalel art school in Jerusalem.<br /> <br /> Binding with some cracking and rubbing to the front hinge and a few light stains and smudges to the covers.
