RARE! This book combines the two 5698 (1937/38) German issues of the semiannual periodical "WIZO Revue" published by the WIZO-headquarters in London. The issues include articles on social or economical topics concerning Israel and 7 b&w photographic plates documenting the activities of the Women's International Zionist Organization. One plate shows a portrait of one of the staff members of WIZO, Anna Jaffe, who passed away shortly before the issue was printed. This book is made especially notable by forewords written by WIZO-founders, among them Vera Weizmann, the wife of Chaim Weizmann. 188x240mm. [48]+[48] pages. Rebound marbled board Hardcover. Cover yellowing/age-stained. Small worm-mark on rear cover (the hole does not penetrate the cover). Front cover fore and bottom edges parhtly peeling. Cover bottom corners bumped. Spine taped. He was active in Zionist activism prior to statehood and aided the delegation of the Jewish Agency for Palestine as a liaison to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland.
