Studio sulla storia del Cristianesimo in Etiopia e sulla Chiesa copta, dalle origini semileggendarie della presenza cristiana in tale terra sino al dominio coloniale italiano. Il Sottochiesa (nato nel 1893 a Rovereto, morto nel 1963) fu pubblicista cattolico e poeta vernacolare noto soprattutto per i suoi virulenti strali antisemiti dopo la promulgazione delle leggi razziali.
