Signed "Gaston Bonnefont". Folded once for mailing. Very good. <p>Bonnefont writes to Paul Barlatier director of the Semaphore newspaper in Marseille saying that he has asked M. Mame to send Barlatier a copy of Lady Brassey's "Aux Indes et en Australie" which he has translated. In view of the great success of the book in England in the orignal English text Bonnefont hopes that Balatier might write a few words about the French translation in Semaphore.<p>"Aux Indes et en Astralie dans le yacht le 'Sunbeam'" the French version of Baroness Annie Allnutt Brassey's account of her travels in Australia and India in her yacht was published by Alfred Mame in Tours in 1893. The original title was "Voyage in the Sunbeam: Our Home on the Ocean for Eleven Months". Lord and Lady Brassey made several tips around the world in their yacht. This 1886-7 voyage was Lady Brassey's last. She died before the cruise was completed and her grieving husband completed the work for publication<p>Gaston Bonnefont 1851-1911 was the pseudonym of Pierre Bonnefont. He was a journalist playwright travel writer and essayist. He was the editor-in-chief of "Calvados". He was the author of numerous works notably "Nos belles mondaines: Marion Delorme Liane de Pougy 1895 and "Jacquard histoire d'un ouvrier" 1890. Tours, France: 12 October, 1893. unknown
