A collection of travel photographs most captioned likely taken by a N.E.A. delegate on a 1905 tour of the Southwest which ended in San Antonio and also including some photographs taken in Mexico in a presumed continuation of those travels. Several images mention delegates one sign on the side of a train car reads “welcome N.E.A. delegates†and the route matches one found in contemporary newspaper accounts of a trip through the Southwest in 1905. The images are mix of candid shots and tourist attractions with the Alamo represented as well as several events and some street scenes taken in Mexico. unknown

William Henry Hudson 4 August 1841 - 18 August 1922 known in Argentina as Guillermo Enrique Hudson was an Anglo-Argentine author naturalist and ornithologist. Born in the Argentine pampas where he roamed free in his youth he observed bird life and collected specimens for the Smithsonian Institution. The Patagonian birds Knipolegus hudsoni and Asthenes hudsoni are named after him. Hudson travelled in April 1874 when he boarded the steamer Ebro for England. He began to travel in England and wrote Nature in Downland 1900. Contents very good the uncut edges are a little worn in places and a couple of a small near-contemporary oval stamps of the "Baptist College Bristol" to the front end paper no other marks. Paper in very good condition without any obvious staining minimal foxing almost completly confined to the tissue guards maps and plates all very good clean and crisp short repaired tear to the edge of page 318 not nearly affecting the text.
