The article was published in February 1900 and is comprising of extracts from his doctoral dissertation which apparently was never published. There is a record of only one article that was published earlier "Notes sur les origines de l'Égypte d'après les fouilles recentes" which appeared in 1899 also in Revue de l'université de Bruxelles.
