In qualita' di avvocato Ferrigni entra in questa annosa causa relativa all'immensa eredita' di Nessim Samana, ebreo tunisino che, nato di origini modeste e, inizialmente commerciante di tessuti. Grazie alle sue capacita' diviene presto Ricevitore generale e Ministro delle finanze. Divenuto ricchissimo dovette in seguito fuggire dalla Tunisia per la Francia. Con la guerra franco - prussiana fu costretto a rifugiarsi in Italia, a Livorno dove continuo' a controllare i suoi commerci in Tunisia. Alla sua morte si scateno' una furibonda questione legale relativa alla sua eredita' che duro' ben 15 anni

CZC-12977L'ouvrage de Arnold Boscowitz (1826-1910) est un inventaire très complet de toutes les catastrophes historiques liées aux mouvements de l'écorce terrestre, à commencer par celui de l'île de Saint-Thomas (Antilles) en 1837, île natale de l'auteur, dont il fut témoin à l'âge de onze ans : "C'était le 2 août. Bien que près d'un demi-siècle, hélas ! me sépare de cette époque, les péripéties du drame auquel j'assistai se déroulent devant mes yeux nettement, comme si c'était d'hier" . L'auteur évoque aussi bien les cataclysmes de l'antiquité que ceux de l'époque moderne (à Caracas, au Honduras, à Lisbonne, en Calabre, en Grèce, en Andalousie, en Suisse, à Java et Sumatra, avec la récente éruption du Krakatoa, etc.) et expose pour finir la théorie du feu central, expliquant ces phénomènes encore aujourd'hui mystérieux et dramatiques. illustré de 16 gravures tirées en couleur et de 40 compositions sur bois par Eugène Ciceri vol. in°4, 280x190, relié demi chagrin, dos à nerfs, frottements, toutes tranches dorées, bel état intérieur, 604pp, bel exemplaire bien frais,rare Paris Ducrocq, vers 1860
