As New Tatar Paperback. 4to. (30 x 21 cm). Title is in English and Japanese; text in Tatar (with Arabic letters). [4], [i], 97 p. "It is well known that Tatar exiles (or immigrants) in Inter war Japan published their booklets, magazines and books. Among them, it is the most important publications that were published y Matbaa-i Islamiye (or Tokyo'da Matbaa-i Islamiye) at the Muslim School in Tokyo by Mehmet Abdülhay Kurbanali, 1887-1972). It is probable that Bulletin of Kobe Idil-Ural Türk Tatar Kültür Cemaati was also organ magazine of the group who subscribes to Ayaz Ishaki, as indicated this magazine is the reduction of 'Yana Milli Yol', the Ottoman magazine of Idil-Ural Türk-Tatar movements published in Berlin-Charlottenburg. This description indcates that there were the world-wide Tatar intellectuals network of Idil-Ural Türk-Tatar movements, included Japan. It requires for the researchers all over the world to collaborate to ccollect and investigate the Tatar publications, like Bulletin of Kobe Idil-Ural Türk-Tatar Kültür Cemaati, in the interwar Japan. This itme we only provide the original text of the magazine (only first 4 issues), but we hope to continue to investigate this magazine and the Idil-Ural Türk-Tatar movements in Japan as the part of the world-wide Tatar intellectuals network".

New English Paperback. Roy. 8vo. (24 x 17 cm). In English and Turkish. 630 p., ills. Horizons of the world: Festschrift for Isenbike Togan.= Hûdudü'l-âlem: Isenbike Togan'a armgan. Edited by Ilker Evrim Binbas, Nurten Kiliç-Schubel. The articles gathered in this volume are dedicated to Professor Isenbike Togan by her students, colleagues, and friends to honor and celebrate her long and continuing career as one of the world's foremost scholars in the field of Central Asian history. The range of articles that the contributors to this festschrift submitted reflects in many ways the depth and breadth of Isenbike Togan's works and her understanding of history. Indeed, from a geographical perspective, her published works cover the vast area from China to Anatolia, and from a chronological perspective they extend from the 7th to the 21st century. While the central historical question with which Isenbike Togan engages most frequently is the nature of political culture, her books and articles address a wide range of issues and questions, including women's history, the dhikr ceremonies of the Naqshbandi order in Eastern Turkestan, legitimacy and state formation in Central Asia, tribal politics from the perspective of anthropological history, and Chinese historiography. Through her command of a wide range of languages, historical issues, and textual sources, she not only makes 'surprising' connections among these seemingly diverse historical topics, but offers systematic and new approaches in the study of the Turco-Mongol peoples. Her intellectual adventure has been shaped by her unique ability to engage with the objects of her inquiry in a truly holistic and integrative manner; her works, while thoroughly rooted in painstaking and careful textual and linguistics analysis, consistently address and illuminate the 'big picture' in history.

I have wanted to be different for my students; I have avoided things everyone does and desired to tell them that there is a real world outside that is not comparable to what the course books teach. I have advised them to think objectively and scientifically, read and assess the proper sources to reach for the truth, use their reasoning skills, and read and study much if they choose to have an academic career like I did. I have also advised them to absolutely experience abroad. As a researcher, writer, traveler. To get to know a country, introduce it, and observe th truths about it within its borders".
