The power of the church as a unified front to oppose tobacco companies is also a theme. </p> <p>Much of the book’s scientific and medical “evidence†to demonstrate tobacco’s ill-effects are now known to be wrong but a number of the author’s points e.g. peer pressure to use tobacco would be used today.
