Tutte a cura di Teler, nel 1615 uscirono quattro edizioni dell’opera, quando ormai Boccalini era morto (1556 Loreto - 1613) e i suoi attacchi alla Spagna non potevano più nuocergli. In ogni caso, fu necessario utilizzare un luogo di stampa e editore fittizi, per pubblicare questi 29 ragguagli politici che evidentemente Boccalini si era autocensurato nei Ragguagli di Parnaso”. Bound in contemporary quarter hardgrain morocco and pebbled boards. Light wear to binding, internally fine and bright. Very rare.
AN UNRECORDED EDITION (apparently the second) of the first monograph on the merino sheep. The first edition is dated "ventÙse, an V" (February-March, 1797) and the next recorded edition is dated "frimaire, an VII" (November-December, 1798). This edition is dated simply "an VI" (September 1797 to September 1798), and thus clearly falls in between. 61 pp. 8vo. Printed on very fine laid paper. 8vo. A PRISTINE COPY, ENTIRELY UNCUT, SEWN AS ISSUED IN UNPRINTED WRAPS. Some tearing to spine of wraps, otherwise FINE AND BRIGHT. An extremely rare survival.

Contiene un gran número de apuntes biográficos de frailes y monjas carmelitas, en su mayor parte españoles e italianos y lleva un prólogo escrito por Fray Pedro de la Trinidad en el mismo año de la edición, 1724, en Zaragoza, en el Convento de Carmelitas Descalzos. Su autor, el hoy Venerable Fray Francisco de la Cruz, nacido en Mora, Toledo, es hoy conocido, además de por sus interesantes escritos, por ser el peregrino por excelencia, ya que a lo largo de su vida peregrinó a Roma, Tierra Santa y Santiago de Compostela, con una cruz a cuestas.

First edition of this collection of stories by Hervieu, illustrated by her with five full-page original lithographs (one in color) and five wood engravings. Beautifully printed on fine Marais wove paper. From a total edition of 355 copies, this is one of 13 with a suite of the lithographs and wood engravings. This copy belonged to renowned artist and printer Jean-Gabriel Daragnes, with his wood-engraved bookplate. 4to, loose as issued in original wraps. Fine.
