In 8° (20,5x13 cm); 208 pp. Brossura editoriale con scritte in nero ai piatti ed al dorso. Prima rara edizione di questa raccolte di caricature del celebre scrittore e disegnatore satirico svedese, Albert Engström (Lönnenberga, 12 maggio 1869 - Stoccolma, 16 novembre 1940). Discepolo di Carl Larsson, fu professore all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Stoccolma. Engström nel 1897 fu il fondatore del giornale umoristico Strix che divenne presto uno dei giornali satirici più importanti di Svezia. I numeri del giornale erano arricchiti da bellissimi disegni di Engström nei quali l'autore riproduceva i personaggi e le scene da lui incontrati durante le sue passeggiate giornaliere. Se è vero che non mancò di ritrarre personaggi illustri, la maggior parte delle sue caricature e dei suoi racconti sono incentrati su cacciatori, pescatori e contadini, in particolare legati alla piaga dell'alcol che l'autore non mancò mai di combattere. Questa qui presentata è una delle più rare prime edizioni delle sue opere. Esemplare in ottime condizioni di conservazione.
