Printed to special paper. Camille Gorgé, son of David Gorgé, devoted himself to the study of law at the University of Leipzig and the University of Geneva after obtaining the Swiss Matura, in 1916 he graduated in Geneva with a license. Camille Gorgé was married with Rosine Minchler. One year after graduating, Camille Gorgé joined the Department of Economics and, the following year, the Federal Political Department. In the years 1924-1926 on leave, he worked as a legal adviser to the Japanese Foreign Minister. Upon his return from Tokyo, he was given the leadership of the Section of the League of Nations in the Federal Department of Political Affairs. In the years 1928-1939 Gorgé participated as a delegate in the League negotiations, in 1935 he chaired the Conference of the International Aid Association in Geneva, 1938, the Legal Commission of the Conference of the Red Cross in London. Camille Gorgé then acted as Swiss Envoy from 1940 to 1945 in Tokyo, from 1946 to 1950 in Ankara. This book includes his travel memoirs and descriptions on Anatolia in his days in Turkey.
