Annotated in pencil with the first three items dismissed as forgeries and Item 4 said to have been 'bought at Pearson's Sale Cost 1000 M.' Full-page foreword begins: 'This unique and truly extraordinary collection commences with the autograph of Antonio del Pollajuolo born in 1426 and closes with that of Millais born in 1829 died in 1896 thus covering a period of four hundred and seventy years in the history of the world's art.' The foreword also states that the collection includes items from that of 'Herr Meyer-Cohn' and that the British Museum lacks the autographs of 21 of the artists in it.
