This contemporary report investigated the impact of the conflicts that took place in the Balkan States in 1912 and 1913 when Greece, Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgaria declared war upon the Ottoman Empire and defeated it . In 1913 the Second Balkan War began when Bulgaria, dissatisfied with its loss of Macedonia, attacked its former Balkan League allies. The Balkan Wars were marked by ethnic cleansing with all parties being responsible for grave atrocities against civilians which were documented in this report.[X],418p. Plate,tables mapd. Il grande conte DE GUBERNATIS, orientalista, studioso del follclore toscano; nel 1865 aderì agli ideali anarchici entrando a far parte del circolo di Michail Bakunin,di cui sposò la cugina, Sofia Besobrasoff; rinunciò alla sua cattedra, ma l'anarchismo durò pochi mesi; fu poi reintegrato nel 1890, alla cattedra di sanscrito a Firenze e poi di letteratura italiana (aveva pubblicato 18 voll. di storia della lett. it.!) all'Università di Roma. Raro, mai apparso in Maremagnum, censito in 6 bibl.
