Venezia, appo Zancon, 1794, rarissimo biglietto da visita veneziano inciso in rame in inchiostro marrone su carta vergata coeva, con la carta geografica della Prussia, mm. 64x92 (il biglietto). Nella parte inferiore la carta reca uno spazio bianco dove apporre il proprio nome. Questa serie di carte da visita geografiche, cominciata dallo Zancon, fu raccolta successivamente dallo Zatta in un piccolissimo atlante: "Atlante tascabile per le dame", formato probabilmente da 70 carte (cfr. l'esemplare conservato alla biblioteca dell'Università di Yale, in tre volumi, 70 mappe). Esemplare in eccellenti condizioni di conservazione (essendo un biglietto da visita è stato rifilato all'interno dell'impronta della lastra). Rarissimo.

Bilateral relations between the Prussian Empire and the Ottoman Empire reached their peak during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II in the 19th century, when the Industrial Revolution was taking place. This was a period of great change in living conditions and social culture as well. Necessities for housing changed as well, and the "birth" of a new housing type; the apartment blocks with shops and passages beneath - took place, especially in European capitals. This research focuses on this point of history, and aims to illuminate the relations between the Ottoman Empire and Prussian Empire in an architectural context; and also to show the shaping of urban life in 19th century Istanbul. The main focus of this work, however, is the relation between socio-cultural issues and architecture in the Prussian and Ottoman Empires, from the perspective of urban planning and apartment building construction in two capitals, Berlin and Istanbul, in the same period of time in the 19th century. When public issues meet daily social housing problems, the 19th century apartment blocks with passages beneath emerge as a new type of building, based on examples from Istanbul and Berlin alike.

Première édition et unique française de librairie de 'Deutsche Kunst und deutsche Politik', dans la traduction de l'homme de lettres bruxellois Jules-Louis Guilliaume (1825-1900), précoce et fervent défenseur de la musique Wagner et du wagnérisme théorique. La publication, commencée par articles dans la "Süddeutsche Presse" en octobre 1867, fut interrompue quelques mois plus tard par ordre du gouvernement bavarois, avant d'être imprimée sous forme de livre. Quant à cette traduction française, elle parut initialement sous forme d'articles dans le "Guide musical" de Bruxelles (1867-1868). Wagner y développe son idéal d'un renouveau nationaliste de la culture allemande adossé à un plaidoyer opportuniste en faveur de son nouveau mécène Louis II. C'est également dans cette série d'essais que Wagner formalise, pour la première fois, sa théorie de l'opposition entre "culture" allemande et "civilisation" française. En se démarquant de ses influences "romanesques", l'art allemand incarné par son "drame musical" porteur de la vigueur d'esprit et la force d'âme requises, fera prévaloir une culture "plus élevée" contre laquelle la civilisation française n'aura plus de pouvoir. L'objectif premier de l'essai, infléchir la politique culturelle de Louis II, ne sera pas atteint. (Henri Silège, 'Bibliographie wagnérienne française', p. 16). Édition originale de la traduction française, par Paul Challemel-Lacour, des livrets du Vaisseau fantôme, de Tannhäuser, de Lohengrin et de Tristan et Isolde. Elle est précédée d'une importante "Lettre sur la musique" (73 pages), datée de Paris le 15 septembre 1860, adressée par Richard Wagner à l'historien d'art Frédéric Villot, préface qui fait figure à la fois de manifeste et d'autobiographie. C'est le premier ouvrage de Wagner traduit en français. (cf. Grove, XX, p. 139. Silège, 'Bibliographie wagnérienne française', 1902; p. 10.). Papier légèrement bruni. La couverture conservée comporte des réparations. Très bon exemplaire, entièrement non rogné, bien relié.
