Fifth Series Special Sheets were produced for a relatively small number of selected regions, and not included in the numbered sheet series. The cover is Reeves' 'Five Lines' in blue landscape format with Welsh Dragon in red. THIS COVER DESIGN IS UNIQUE, AND SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION. Browne, 100.2.
Book is in excellent condition in red paper hardback boards. Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no blemishes, gilt print to spine, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Dust jacket is price clipped, shows chipping, edgewear, 2" tear at back, scuffing. Prnted in G.B. 242 illustrations in gilt and black. Illustrations are photographically reduced from original rubbings and turned into positives with art ehn printed on to a solid gilt base, giving an authentic reproduction of the original design as conceived by the medieval craftsman. Detail to block-making. Book is heavily illustrated with large, often full page illustrations bathed in gilt.
