C. A. Aylmer. Secy.' The recto of the second leaf carries the following: '21st. Apl 1865 Memo. Mr. Davidson mentions to me that the Sum of Fivethousandpounds £5000. out of his holding of £65000 sixty-five Thousand pounds is the Property of Messrs. Herries Farquhar & Co. C. A. Aylmer'. Loosely inserted is a slip of paper in Aylmer's hand. Made out for Davidson to sign it reads: 'Mem: 15 Sept 1868 The numbers of my own bona fide Shares in the Peel River Land & Mineral Co. is £60000.'
