Explorations on the ancient roads of the Incas, through Ecuador, Peru and Chile that allowed the Inca Empire to dominate a quarter of South America. Author describes the American Geographical Society's Inca Highway Expedition of eight explorers and archaeologists and numerous assistants, which he lead over a two year period.
