Nel 1906 il governo gli offri' aiuti affinche' esplorasse l'artico orientale. Nel 1906 - 7 fu all'isola di Baffin e nel 1908 - 9 all'isola di Baffin. Testo non comune e di grande interesse per la ricchezza di osservazioni naturalistiche e etnografiche.
