This would be a very good copy if not for crinkling from WATER damage - yes they may have gotten too close to the lake. The pages are dry with no sticking or color loss and no sign of mold or mustiness. The upper edge and final gathering seem to have taken the brunt of the dipping. Still a great local history at 400 pages with black and white photos throughout.</p> Ten Mile Lake Association hardcover

Previous owner's seal embossed on half-title page. Forward edge of foreword preface and table of contents have a spot which grows smaller until it disappears after page xix. Text block clean. Top page edge has foxing and soiling and forward and bottom page edges have light spotting. Dust jacket has tears and creasing on top edge front and rear panel. Top of spine has chipping loss and 1" u-shaped tear. Bottom of spine also shows a little chipping loss. Light areas of front panel and spine have some staining and light spotting and the hinges show rubbing wear with a small hole rubbed in the front hinge in the last letter "E" in the title "The Eagle". Addressed to Arnold Gates 1914-93 noted Lincoln/Civil War researcher. Near fine. On her personal letterhead Dannett writes to this officer of the New York Civil War Round Table: "I should like to bring along Miss Ellen Tarry the writer as my guest at the Bruce Catton Dinner." Signed boldly in full in black ballpoint. In addition to this title Dannett 1909-95 wrote "She Rode with the Generals: The True and Incredible Story of Sarah Emma Seelye Alias Franklin Thompson" "And the Show Went On.in the Confederacy" and several other histories.
