The unidentified proprietor of the dancing school listed the students by class: Ladies Evening Class 56 students; Gentleman's Evening Class 56 students; Ladies Afternoon 44 students; Private Waltzing Lessons 17 students; and Children's Class 23 students. The 196 students are listed presumably by the date they joined the class with street addresses for each. The Okonite Co. founded in 1878 was one of the original insulators of electrical wire and cable in the United States. Early customers included Samuel F.B. Morse for his telegraph network and Thomas A. Edison for the Pearl Street Generating Station the nation's first built in New York City in 1882. This publication honored Hazard-Okonite who were serving in World War Two. It includes various messages from fellow employees of the firm and lists all those who were serving in May 1944 with their contact information. Writing on the front including the name and address of Dom Servillo the secretary-treasurer of the Service Committee that produced the booklet. A very scarce World War Two item.
