Molto buono Very Good. . <em>Frank Stella nato a Malden Massachusetts negli anni 1950-1954 studia pittura e storia dell'arte alla Philips Academy di Andover in compagnia di Carl Andre. Nel 1958 termina gli studi alla Princeton University New Jersey laureandosi in storia. All'età"; di 23 anni espone quattro Black Paintings al MoMA in occasione della mostra Sixteen Americans dicembre 1959 curata da Dorothy Miller che durante la preparazione della durante l'estate fece visita insieme a <strong>Leo Castelli</strong> al suo studio. Sarà l'occasione che lo porta a far parte del gruppo degli artisti della Galleria di Leo Castelli.</em><br /><em>Nell'estate del 1963 viene nominato artista residente presso il Dartmouth College di Hanover New Hampshire dove inizia ad insegnare pittura. A partire dal 1961 inizia una serie di viaggi che lo porteranno in numerosi paesi europei in Sud America ed in Medio Oriente. Nel 1964 partecipa alla <strong>XXXII Biennale di Venezia</strong> insieme ad un gruppo di artisti americani: John Chamberlain Claes Oldenburg e Jim Dine i Robert Rauschenberg Jasper Johns. Fra le molte altre notevoli iniziative dell'Artista si segnalano: Biennial Exhibition of Paintings Tokyo del 1967 dove si aggiudica il first prize - nell'aprile 1976 prende parte al progetto BMW art car ideato dall'automobilista Hervé" Poulain<sup id="cite_ref-19" class="reference"></sup>. Progetto per cui dovette dipingere la carrozzeria di una BMW - nel 2001 viene insignito della Gold Medal of the National Arts Club - <sup id="cite_ref-:12_16-2" class="reference"></sup> il 1º"; maggio 2007 il MET ha inaugurato due mostre su Stella. La prima Frank Stella: Painting into Architecture 1º maggio - 29 luglio 2007 ha riunito alcuni dei progetti architettonici che l'artista ha ideato tra gli anni '90 e 2000; mentre nella seconda Frank Stella on the Roof 1º Maggio - 28 ottobre 2007 con le sculture monumentali in acciaio come Memantra 2005 - Nel 2009 il presidente Barack Obama ha consegnato all'artista la National Medal of Arts - Nel 2012 partecipa alla mostra Il Guggenheim.
