These prints have a number listed on each one the box comprises of 318 prints of which 262 are B&W and 56 are colored They come in a green box with no writing on it but what looks like the remains of a sticker on the top the paper measures 5 1/2" X 8" and the pictures are approximately 4 X 6 with some vertical and horizontal previous owners bookplate on inside front cover. 1930389977Boston Massachusetts: The South Boston Hebrew Juniors 1930. Softcover. Very Good. Typed magazine and accompanying holograph essay. Quartos. The magazine consists of six sheets typed on the rectos stapled together with two additional blank sheets serving as front and rear covers. The front cover is detached very good. A “special paper†published by the members of the South Boston Hebrew Juniors as part of a fundraising effort. Made-up of various short pieces relating to the club including an original poem and a jest about how to become an American citizen. With an accompanying holograph essay: “Anti-Semitism the Scourge of Israel; and Palestine the Hope of Israel.†written in ink on the rectos only of six notebook sheets presumably by one of the club's younger members. References are made to: “the thousands who are homeless in the Mississippi Valley …†“war and desolation in China†and to “the millions in Eastern Europe whose spirit has been broken .†Some toning and a few scattered tiny tears to the right edges very good. There are no known copies of the magazine which is quite probably a lone survivor. The South Boston Hebrew Juniors unknown

193933An archive of 3 letters and 7 telegrams to and from Mrs. Elsie V. Kenway and her daughter Margaret who arrived in Europe August 1939 stayed in Paris and went to Switzerland. By the end of the month they are nervous about war breaking out and notify the American Consulate in Bern. Consul John H. Madonne writes that he will notify them if it is advisable that they leave the country. Elsie cables her husband about what to do. He suggests staying in Switzerland or going to Holland to be able to take a Dutch boat in case of war. By the first week of September Herbert wires money so they can return - and they book passage on an Italian liner from Genoa to New York. 2 letters from Herbert are returned to him in October not having caught up with Elsie. "Dear War Babies This is the third time I have written you but Hitler and you are charging around so often that I feel sure you will get no letters."
