Besides his 140 letters written during the Peninsular Campaign there were 40 written during his time at Waterloo. In addition there are three maps of Portugal St. Sebastian region and the parts touching Spain and France. There are a number of letters that show the progress at Waterloo so in a letter of June 15 as commander of the Royal Horse Artillery he is asked at 10 PM to began moving. All of this was complicated by the reorganization on the run of units as numbers fell and others were incorporated into the battle formation. As they approached Waterloo for the first time they were almost fully reorganized and as he look out upon his troops he notes "they made a noble appearance".A very good copy bound in a beautiful 3/4 red morocco over red cloth. raised bands with compartments lettered and decoratively stamped in gilt some tanning to page edges housed within cloth covered slipcase with original gilt cloth depicting a cannon centrally mounted. A marvelous and scarce document with only five copies recorded on OCLC. Whil it mentions the existance of a map Rink cites in Technica Americana that no map was issued. The cover letter printed after the title leaf is by Secretar of War John Barbour and cites the plan to build a national road from Washington to New Orleans across the Cumberland Mountains as authorized by Congress according to House of Representatives bill number 44 "to regulate th laying out and making a National Road from the City of Washington in the District of Columbia to New Orleans in the State of Louisiana." The ten folding tables give detailed information on the geographical formations natu of soils distances products bridges gradations counties population and distances along the route. New front free endpaper of the later binding also lacking. Some foxing. Priced accordingly. unknown books

Date of 1692 is not correctly done in the Roman see photos printer's error. All edges spattered red as issued. Previous owners' names and inscriptions on first free endpaper. Simon-Michel Treuvé born in Noyers on August 8 1651and died in Paris on February 22 1730 was a French Catholic theologian. Massively annotated by a contemporary owner in law-French in a neat small chancery hand notes affected in places by trimming. Contemporary owner inscription to title page Robbart along with a few brief contemporary annotations purchase date to verso of final leaf: "25 May 1580." Preserved in a custom cloth clamshell box with printed paper title label. $7500. First edition. Theloall's Digest was the accepted register of correctly drafted writs. It owes its origin to the suggestion of Staunford that it would be a good idea if lawyers would write treatises on the other titles of the abridgments similar to his study of the Title "Prerogative." Staunford illustrated his meaning by showing how the Title "Brief" might be treated. Theloall chose this title and wrote a treatise on it for his own use. The manuscript having been lent eventually found its way to a printer. "It deserved to be printed as it is the most orderly treatise on procedure founded on the Year Books that had yet appeared. Historically it comes between the older commentaries upon writs and the modern books on procedure" Holdsworth. A second edition was published in 1678.
