The advertisements for the book appeared widely and stated: "So simple and logical that any 14-year old school boy can read it intelligibily and thereby know the difference between a good car and the other kind." One shows a gent leaning against what looks like a painted pillar. A strip of the pillar is visible in another CDV. Irregularly trimmed; some staining. In 1860 James Benjamin Brewster and Theodore E. Baldwin formed Brewster & Baldwin Carriages. In 1870 the firm became J.B. Brewster of the same family but a competitor of Brewster & Co. America's premier carriage-making firm for decades to come. Brewster & Co. is the Brewster of "You're a Brewster body" in Cole Porter's "You're the Top." Very scarce. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate. Sold as a group. In around 1830 or 1831 Summers and Ogle based at the Iron Foundry In 1831 the firm's Nathaniel Ogle gave evidence on the steam carriage to the "Select Committee of the House of Commons on Steam Carriages". Millbrook Southampton made two three wheeled steam carriages. In 1832 one of their steam carriages travelled via Oxford to Birmingham and Liverpool.
