Bellissime descrizioni della flora e fauna tibetana accompagnate dalle illustrazioni degl'usi e costumi. Restauri e minime mancanze alle brossure, in bello stato, carta ancor fresca e frusciante, in barbe, colmo di curiose notizie, entusiasmante.

Questo è il resoconto di tale spedizione - dal giugno 1899 al giugno 1902 - intrapresa dal grande esploratore svedese Sven Hedin (1865-1952), in regioni ancora sconosciute. Esemplare ben conservato, con timbri di apparten.

Interessante descrizione del viaggio iniziato in India e ricordato per la descrizione del assaggio attraverso le montagne del Kurdistan. Molto interessante anche la relazione del viaggio al lago Manasarovar in Tibet. Manca metà dell'ultima carta con elenco delle tavole al primo volume. Collana "Raccolta de' viaggi più interessanti eseguiti nelle varie parti del mondo, tanto per terra quanto per mare, dopo quelli del celebre Cook...".

Prima edizione francese di "In the Forbidden Land" (London, Heinemann, 1898) a cura di Henri Jacottet. Pittore, antropologo, scrittore, giornalista e fotografo, Arnold Henri Savage Landor viaggiò per buona parte della sua vita in più continenti, in quest'opera racconta della sua prima esplorazione in Tibet, nel 1897, paese all'epoca ancora chiuso al mondo esterno ed ostile verso gli stranieri che ne varcavano i confini. Ex libris ed etichetta coeva di legatoria spagnola al risguardo anteriore. Bell'esemplare, stampato su carta patinata, ottimo stato di conservazione. Peso di spedizione : 1500 g
