19996282Taipei: Institute of Current China Studies 1999. Staplebound. Very good. Various sizes mostly small octavo or quarto. 13 issues dated between September 1979 in the inaugural year - possibly the first issue and November of 1981. Then the run jumps to January 1987 Issue 97 and continues through September 1999 Issue 249 lacking only three issues within that run. Though incomplete a very substantial run of this Taiwan-published journal of mainland China. The issues in the spring and early summer of 1989 touch a great deal on the student protests in Tiananmen Square. Well-stocked in libraries we were hard-pressed to find a similarly large group of issues in commerce; nor did we find many single issues either. There is also an index by subject which covers the first 20 years of the magazine. Ex-library with some markings but generally a clean very readable set. Overseas shipping may incur extra charges.
