History of the rituals and mourns of Fatimids. "Fatimids knew that one way to change the social behaviour was to use the same rituals and customs that strengthened religious and national identity. These rituals and ceremonies by creating a lively and active atmosphere invited people to social participation and strengthen mass communication which led to creation of unity between tribes and heterogeneous institutions in different neighborhoods of Egypt. Moreover showing cultural rituals reconstructed the cultural identity of their followers. While holding these festivals and mourning ceremonies imposed exorbitant costs and expenses on Fatimid government in general the glorious holding of these celebrations was a reflection of the good economic condition of the Fatimid court. In this work by using the usual historical methods based on accurate descriptions first I have presented vivid pictures of the festivals celebrations and mourning of this era and in the following I have analyzed the afore-mentioned customs and rituals in details. Based on the questions in the introduction of the book the structure of this collection is divided into five long chapters and one conclusion...".

[= The history of Ottoman-Iranian relations in the Safavid era], 907-1135 / 1501-1722 (Iran & Ottoman History Series: 4). "Throughout the history of the Ottoman Empire its relations with Iran were contentious. This is especially true for the Safavid period. A clear indication of the nature of this contention is the repetitive wars and treatise between the parties. Inevitably, on both sides of the divide there has been considerable research on this period and issues involved. However, no matter how valuable these works are, they are not involved in a dialogue and research has mostly been one sided, with the scholars of the other side. A meaningful dialogue on the other hand, requires that the scholars, of both sides, consult the works of each other and pay attention to the views of their counterparts. This, inevitably requires translation of the works of differing parties. Such works would promote mutual understanding and the discovery of the realities that should supplant partisan discourse. It is well known that without critical examination of the historical facts we would end up with stories that might sound good to one side of the divide but add little to historiography. Obviously there is a need for such historical works. Composed to fifteen research papers by different Turkish scholars, the present volume hopes to fill such a vacuum; introduce the works of Turkish scholars to the Iranian public and academia, and shed new light on Ottoman-Safavid relations.".

Javid Gheitanchi is the writer of the only biography of James Justinian Morier, /1780-1849), who was a British diplomat and author noted for his novels about the Qajar dynasty in Iran, most famously for the Hajji Baba series. (Adventures of Hajji Baba) which is criticized for his 'Hajji Baba' texts.
