The beautiful map of Palestine is printed in black, blue, and light orange. It includes a 1:20,000 scale insert of Jerusalem with a legend, and two 1:400,000 scale inserts, one of the Judean Highland, the second of the region between Nazareth and Tiberias.

Hardcover, bound in the original cloth-backed boards, with a colour plate mounted on cover. Old manuscript inscription in neat hand, dated 1934, to first flyleaf. A very fine copy. ~ First edition. Palestine old and new, Jewish and Arab, modern and ancient, urban and rural, in a well selected collection of photographs, many of which are rarely printed elsewhere. Includes very rare air surveillance photographs of Nazareth and Jerusalem, borrowed from the War Archive in Munich, and nicely reproduced here as full-page plates. The cover plate is a painting of the Temple Mount by the Austrian born painter and illustrator Prof. Franz Kienmayer (1886 - 1963).
