This was the third year of Israels Existence, still during the DP period. Includes 8 blue, white, and black cartoons depicting the ways in which Israel bonds are helpful to the young State of Israel and to the person purchasing them, each with a caption. Cartoon topics include absorbing new immigrants, expanding fishing and citrus industries, and manufacturing chemicals at the dead sea. It is up to us to determine whether they are to accomplish their objective in the three-year economic development program, or whether they are to struggle for a generation, because of lack of adequate capital. Boucher, mineur observantin et réédité à Rouen pour notre exemplaire ; l'ouvrage rencontra un succès extraordinaire jusqu'à la Révolution et Chateaubriand lui-même en sera encore imprégné. L'ouvrage, qui est aussi un vrai livre d'aventures, expose des considérations sur la civilisation ottomane, et fournit de nombreux renseignements sur la Palestine et les lieux Saints, en Judée, le Mont-Liban, l'Egypte, la Grèce et la Turquie. L'auteur, professeur de Mathématiques et de grammaire, membre de la Société de linguistique de Paris, a écrit de nombreux ouvrages de mathématiques et d'astronomie. Cette histoire du Christ est un de ses quelques livres à caractère religieux (cf. également ses "Entretiens familiers sur la question religieuse et sociale"). Il était originaire de l'Isère, et avait enseigné à l'École normale de l'enseignement spécial de Cluny, ce qui explique l'origine des approbations épiscopales de ce livre. Français
