A fascinating open letter to the Hebrew writers in Israel written by Ephraim Deinard while travelling in Israel. The letter implores Hebrew writers to spread their materials to Jewish communities through the world. His address is listed as 180 Howard street. Newark, NJ Nord America. Deinard (18461930) was one of the greatest Hebrew bibliophiles. He was a bookseller, bibliographer, publicist, polemicist, historian, memoirist, author, editor, and publisher, all rolled into one. He frequently travelled through Europe and the Middle East looking for new volumes to publish back in America in Europe. The present letter is also signed by Nehemia Shmuel Leibowitz, famed Russian-Jewish scholar who moved to New York in 1881. SUBJECTS: Hebrew literature. No copies on OCLC.
