TLS from Austin Heaton Carr of Winston-Salem laid in explaining that this copy was presented by John Motley Morehead to his grandfather Julian Carr on account of his grandfather's close friendship with Eugene Morehead: the two left Chapel Hill to fight for the confederates and Eugene was later best man at Julian's wedding. Limited issue numbered 15 of only 25 copies and signed by Morehead and presented to General Julian S. Carr. This is a promotional piece put out by the Atlantic City Real Estate Board. It starts off with a health report highlighting the virtues of Atlantic City including information on its hospital the temperatures one can expect and the benefits of bathing in its waters. However most of the 64 pages are dedicated to presenting real estate values in Atlantic City. The brochure shows changes in property values from the early part of the last century to about 1925. A promotional piece that was designed to help the development of Atlantic City. Probably the most interesting aspect of this pamphlet is the record of real estate values included in the report. Not surprisingly it attempts show a record of increased real estate values. The first year book issued by the Richmond Academy a secondary school for boys established by the Trustees of Richmond College in 1902. The Academy was housed in two buildings -- one containing a study hall and four classrooms and the other containing the primary school --located just south of the College on Lombardy and Park. We particularly like the page dedicated to the "Academy Chapter of Knights of Inertia and Lassitude" Place of Meeting: "Biach right-hand corner of study hall".
