Two hardback volumes follow - Sartre Romantic Rationalist by Iris Murdoch comes from the series Studies in Modern Literature and Thought published by Bowes & Bowes 1961 while Sartre's Existential Biographies by Michael Scriven Macmillan 1984 is a crisp first edition in a very good but sunned dust jacket. The collection continues with biographies of Sartre by Maurice Cranston R-M Alberes and Philip Thody. Mary Warnock discusses Existentialism and The Philosophy of Sartre as does Anthony Manser. An American perspective is added by Existentialism from Dostoevsky to Sartres edited by Walter Kaufman Meridian Books and Sartre: A Collection of Critical Essays edited by Edith Kern Prentice-Hall 1962. The ownership inscription of V Blackburn appears in several of these titles along with her pencil annotations.
