Baedeker had also introduced more town plans which include Cologne and Strasbourg. <br /><br />This copy is bound in the attractive yellow pictorial bindings known as Biedermeier the period 1815-1848 is often in German-speaking countries referred to as the Biedermeier period in art and especially with reference to a style of furniture. The architectural and landscape designs on these bindings always represent the area covered in the Baedeker. They are considered to be highly collectible.
