First edition. Bound in the original yellow pictorial biedermeier boards slightly bumped and worn at corners and with an insignificant scrape and neat name to the front board; overall a lovely copy with a neat name on the ½ title. This extremely rare early Baedeker was translated by Professor Klein from the fifth German edition published in the same year. This was the second French title to be published by Baedeker. The first was published in 1832 under the title " Voyage du Rhin de Mayence a Cologne." However this is considered to be the first true French Baedeker as much of the guide had been re-written. Baedeker had also introduced more town plans. Hinrichsen F2. Rare hardcover
